Super Kung-Fu Grip PC Build

SuperKungFuGripPC

The newest version of the Super Kung-Fu Grip PC build has begun.  Here are the parts:

AMD FX-8350

Gigabyte Motherboard

GTX660ti GPU

16GB RAM

SSD Drive

1TB Spinning Hard Drive

$65 Case with fancy blue lights

Windows 7

Cheap Microsoft Keyboard

750Watt Power Supply

I made really good progress on the build until I turned it out.  When I turned it on…nothing happened. After so checking and re-checking I found out that the power supply is DOA (Dead on Arrival). That really threw a monkey wrench into my program.  At this point it’s build with not power supply. Heading to the store today or tomorrow to get a new one.  Updates coming soon with my thoughts on the new AMD powered Super Kung-Fu Grip PC build.

Talk to you soon.

How the Japanese Phone Industry Lost the Cell Phone War

Here is a great article on Japanese cell phones that changed the world. I owned two of these, and have to say they really did change the space.  I remember bringing my cell phone with me back to the USA, while on vacation, and my friends couldn’t believe how cool it was.

Japan really dropped the ball here.  They could have owned the market if they actually started exporting all their cool phones.  To the life of me I couldn’t understand why they didn’t pounce on the market with their awesome phones.

CamTwist Tutorial: Stream 24 Hours a Day 7 Days a Week

Internet Broadcasting or live streaming on the internet is pretty easy with CamTwist. The only problem is that if your live in the USA at a certain time, it might be three o’clock in the morning somewhere else. So, how can you stream 24 hours a day and 7 days a week? Well, unless you have a large staff and several hosts, it’s probably impossible. The solution to your problem is to play re-runs of your most recent shows. That way no matter what time of the day, your audience can view your content.

One way to do this is to use CamTwist on the Mac. CamTwist has a video player option that allows you to load up a bunch of clips and stream away for as long as you want. You can have the videos play through once, or you can put them on a infinite loop. So for example, if you did 3 hours of content in the morning you could just re-run those shows the rest of the day until you are live again.

The benefits to having an always on stream are pretty straight forward. The more you are out there the better chance that someone will find your show, start to follow you, and hopefully participate in when you are live.
